November 8, 2013 is the 129th birth anniversary of Hermann Rorschach, the Swiss psychiatrist who devised the test that bears his name. Because of his love for sketching while at school he was nicknamed Kleck which means inkblot. Hermann Rorschach was born on November 8, 1884 in Zurich, Switzerland. He received his MD from the University of Zürich in 1912. Inspired by the work of another Swiss psychiatrist Szyman Hens, Rorschach began his experiments with 15 accidental inkblots. He showed the blots and asked them what it might be? Depending on their responses he got some cues that according to him could bring to light deeper personality traits. Rorschach died at the young age of 37 on April 1, 1922.
